IC Los Angeles Vision Statement:
We are a missionary community who, by the power of God’s love and with our neighbors, catalyzes movements of the transformative Good News of Jesus throughout Central Los Angeles.
We live and work in the Westlake / MacArthur Park neighborhood – a densely populated, multicultural, multigenerational, Latino immigrant community in the heart of Central Los Angeles. Our heart is to see people from our community raised up as leaders and activated missionary disciples of Jesus, who live out and share the Good News as people shaped by God’s love, justice, and mercy. We believe that the Gospel transforms hearts, minds, lives, families, systems, structures, and communities and that God’s Spirit is actively present and working to bring more of the Kingdom of Jesus to every place. Therefore, we seek to partner with God and our neighbors in ministry and daily life, in the work that God is already doing and inviting us to participate in. Our team’s ministries are informed by the needs, dreams, and gifts of people in our community, along with the Spirit’s leading. Current ministry activities include engaging kids, teens, and adults in Discovery Bible Studies; prayer walking with and for our community; “ICLA Music Collective” – engaging discipleship and music with high school youth; partnering at a local high school with other non-profits and ministries; blessing, encouraging and equipping neighborhood women through quarterly Women’s Retreats; “ICLA Book Collective” – engaging discipleship and stewardship through used goods such as books; “Art Club” / Summer VBS for children – creatively engaging in Bible stories, art, games, and prayer; and immigration solidarity and advocacy.
